Decorative hand carved African wooden comb from the Ashanti people of Ghana in West Africa. The figure on the top is an Aku-Aba, traditionally used as a fertfility charm by expectatant mothers to ensure a heaalthy and beautiful child. This stylized item of African tribal art includes the metal stand and would make the perfect gift for a mother to be. The round face and almond eyes of the Aku-aba are perceived as being attributes of beauty by traditional Ashanti culture.
